Singing in the Rain

If we bring a little joy into your humdrum lives, it makes us feel as though our hard work ain't been in vain for nothin'. Bless you all.
Lina Lamont

After the first talking picture, The Jazz Singer, proves to be a smash hit, R.F. decides he has no choice but to convert the new Lockwood and Lamont film, The Dueling Cavalier, into a talkie. The production is beset with difficulties, by far the worst being Lina's comically grating voice.

The premiere of their stage play, The Dueling Cavalier is a tremendous success. When the audience clamors for Lina to sing live, Don, (Gene Kelly) Cosmo (Donald O’Connor) and R.F. improvise and get Lina to lip-synch while Kathy (Debbie Reynolds) sings into a second microphone while hidden behind the curtain. Unbeknownst to Lina, as she starts "singing", Don, Cosmo and R.F. gleefully open the curtain behind her, revealing the deception.  Lina flees in embarrassment. When Kathy tries to run away as well, Don has her stopped and introduces the audience to "the real star of the film".

Allow your talents to come from behind the curtain/scenes.  Make the best of times by learning from your past and accepting your good fortune. Life is always good, we just have to fight through the negative muck and mire to reach our goals.  Live in your greatness.  Learn to know who you are and what you have to offer and offer it to a world that is ready to listen.

Remembering a collection of bad experiences isn't in your best interest.  Change things and demand a successful entrance to your “hit show” just as Don and Cosmo did in their show that started out as deceptive. They changed things by telling the truth and exposing the great talents of themselves and of Kathy.  Tell yourself the truth about who you are and what you are capable of achieving instead of the mistakes made in the past.

Get past the past and enter a whole new life in the present for a glorious future.

Life may not be the party we hoped for...  but while we are here we might as well dance!
